What To Do In Lake County – October Calendar of Events


It’s almost October! The mornings are cool, the leaves are turning color, and the sunshine has that warm autumn glow that promises a future of hats, boots, warm jackets, and yes, pumpkin spice lattes.  Summer has officially gone, but here in beautiful lake county we have the perfect weather to get out and enjoy the fall season!   But what is there to do in Lake County?  Check out a few of the events scheduled for October below.  This list barely scratches the surface of activities happening around the area. Sunday, October 2, 2016, Noon – 2pm

Ely Stage Stop Old Time Fiddler’s Jam and Marketplace.  Free, Family Friendly! Enjoy music, refreshments, and the opportunity to browse and purchase the wares of local craftsmen and artists. Food will be available for purchase on site from the Cactus Grill in Clearlake.  Lake County Historical Society’s Ely Stage Stop & Country Museum is located at 9921 State Hwy 281 (Soda Bay Road) in Kelseyville, near Clearlake Riviera, just north of Hwy 29-Kit’s Corner. Steele Wines Harvest Festival.  No Admission Charge!  Wine tasting, grape stomping, pie eating contest, music, great food, and over 50 vendors selling amazing handmade items.  Wine tasting is $5 for 5 tasting tickets and a commemorative glass.   Steele Winery is located at 4350 Thomas Drive, Kelseyville, Ca   Visit  for more information.

Beer, Wine, and Swine Baconfest in downtown Kelseyville on main street.  Vendors, Bands, BACON, and contests.  I repeat, there will be BACON! All proceeds benefit the Kelseyville Business Association and the SPCA.

Saturday, October 22, 2016, 5:30am – 8:30pm

Jack London Mystery Dinner @ Blue Wing Saloon in Upper Lake.  Held at the Tallman Hotel, 9550 Main Street, Upper Lake, this year’s original Mystery Dinner will be based upon the theme of The Call of the Wild, written by Jack London.  Come in period costume and experience a night in a rowdy saloon during the Alaska Gold Rush.  Costumes are not required but are encouraged.  For information on purchasing tickets, visit or call the reservation desk at (707)275-2244 ext 0

Classic Film:  Vertigo @ Soper Reese Theatre, 275 S.
